About Us

Where everyone really does know your name

One of the most important parts of Odyssey is the way our school feels more like a family than an institution. We celebrate the foundations of family every Friday morning in Family Groups. This is a time when students from every grade, from kindergarten to eighth grade, come together in groups of 15–20 students. These same groups stick together all year, and meet every week. We’ll start with morning meeting, then move on to complete an activity; students usually partner up for activities, which foster and maintain a mentoring relationship between older and younger students. Activities may include sharing a story, playing a board game, or practicing the C.A.R.E.S. model. We also hold family events just about monthly, and project nights every trimester. Participation in these events really helps to promote the students’ and parents’ involvement in the education process.

Healthy minds, healthy bodies

Odyssey educates the whole child. We’ve won awards for our wellness plan, and strive to promote a healthy school environment. With our small class sizes, we focus on creating healthy bodies and healthy minds. We nurture healthy eating habits, and students have gym class at least three times a week. Healthy minds are developed in our small classrooms which give students the opportunity to learn from one another. In this way, peer learning and mentoring evolves naturally.
